MGW Shifter
Handle
MGW
realized the
need for a shifter handle that was closer to the driver. The
position of shifter handles in Mustangs is a pretty far reach for most
drivers. MGW came through by producing a handle that brings the
handle closer on stock or even aftermarket shifters.
After receiving my
shifter handle I noticed right away that a lot of attention was given
to making this handle a cut above the rest. The handle is
thick and very well machined.

Comparison between Steeda Tri-Ax shifter handle and MGW. |
|
I installed
my MGW handle on a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter. The difference
between the two handles is not as great as between the MGW and
a stock shifter handle, but is still an improvement. The
only snag I ran into was the fact that the Steeda Shifter has
a small ring that holds the rubber boot into position.
This had to be removed to provide clearance for the MGW
handle. The effect is negligible, as the MGW handle
holds the boot down with its thick base.
Once the
handle was installed I noticed the shifter felt more solid and
was closer. After a test drive I came to like the handle
even more. The shifts felt firm and solid and the
vibration noise heard with most aftermarket shifters had
diminished considerably. |

The MGW
shifter handle was definitely a good investment. The $35
may seem a little high to some but you get what you paid for
and the MGW handle is very well made and worth the price.
