Lighted Ford Emblem When I saw this I just had to have one. The lighted Ford emblem replaces the stock Ford emblem and is easily wired into your lighting system. The install was fairly easy. First I removed the old emblem with WD-40 and then cleaned the the area thoroughly. The kit includes screws you can use instead of or in addition to the double sided tape already mounted on the emblem. The screws are not necessary since the surface is completely flat, however, since there are holes from where the original emblem seated into, I chose to use the screws for alignment purposes only. A third hole was necessary to route the wire. I drilled the hole directly between the factory holes, ran the wire through, and then mounted the emblem. The wiring part of the installation required splicing into the car's lighting system. I chose to wire the emblem into the license plate lights as they are part of the trunk lid and did not require running much wire. Since there is not much wire to work with, I melted the insulation on the factory wires and just spliced the new wires on to them without having to cut the factory wires.
